What safety precautions should be taken when using a high and low-temperature test chamber?

Source:LINPIN Time:2025-03-03 Category:Industry News

A high and low-temperature test chamber is designed to simulate natural climatic conditions to test the high- and low-temperature resistance of products or materials under alternating temperature changes. Since the temperature conditions created by the test chamber are more extreme than natural climates, they further enhance the reliability of the tested products. In simple terms, this device is used to test the adaptability of products.
The test chamber can determine whether materials soften, age, lose efficiency, deform, or suffer potential damage under high-temperature conditions, as well as the severity of these issues, to assess the high-temperature resistance of products or materials. Additionally, it can test whether materials crack, have moving parts seizing up, become brittle, or experience changes like water freezing or component performance alterations under low-temperature conditions, and the impact of these changes, to assess low-temperature resistance.
To prevent accidents when using the test chamber, users must take several precautions:
Grounding the Equipment: Ensure that the outer casing of the test chamber is properly grounded. Failure to ground the equipment during installation can lead to electric shock if there is a leakage of electricity.
Complete Installation Before Use: Do not start the equipment until the test chamber is fully installed and all components are securely in place. Ensure that everything is correctly installed before beginning any tests.
Avoid Touching Moving Parts: When the equipment is running and the controller is driving components such as motors and fans, avoid touching any moving parts. Even if they appear stationary, sudden movement can cause injury. If it is necessary to access the moving parts, turn off the main power switch and ensure that all protective devices are in place.
Separate Power Supply for Heated Samples: If the test chamber contains samples that generate heat, do not use the machine’s own power supply to control the samples. Instead, use an external power source.
After purchasing a high and low-temperature test chamber, users must ensure basic safety measures are in place when conducting tests. Safety precautions should not be overlooked even when no tests are being conducted. Neglecting these safety measures can lead to test errors, equipment damage, and, more seriously, pose a threat to the user’s safety.

As crucial environmental simulation testing equipment, high and low temperature alternating test chambers come in various structural types. There is no absolutely perfect device; each structure has its unique advantages and limitations.
With the continuous updating of GB/T 4208-2017, IEC 60529:2013, MIL-STD-810H and other domestic and international protection-class standards, “rain testing” has evolved from a simple “water-proof check” into a systematic evaluation covering sealing reliability, material weatherability, structural integrity, electronic compatibility and more.
A super low temperature test chamber is a device used to simulate the performance and reliability of products under low-temperature conditions.
High and low temperature humidity test chambers require electricity to operate, which inevitably leads to energy consumption. Saving electricity not only reduces energy waste but also lowers the operational costs of the equipment.
If the temperature recovery time falls outside the specified range, it can affect the test results of the thermal shock chamber. To routinely test the temperature recovery time of the equipment, you can follow the steps below.
