What are the types of aging test chambers and their applications?

Source:LINPIN Time:2025-05-07 Category:Industry News

Aging test chambers are widely used across various industries and come in many types. So, what are the different types, and what are their purposes?

Aging test chambers can be classified into several common types, including:

High-Temperature Aging Chamber
UV Aging Chamber
Ozone Aging Chamber
Xenon Lamp Aging Chamber
Salt Spray Corrosion Aging Chamber
1. High-Temperature Aging Chamber
This equipment tests the high-temperature resistance of products by exposing them to elevated temperatures. It is commonly used in industries such as home appliances, automotive parts, universities, and aerospace.

2. UV Aging Chamber
Using fluorescent UV lamps as the light source, this chamber evaluates the oxidation resistance, weathering performance, and yellowing resistance of various materials under sunlight exposure. It is suitable for schools, factories, military, R&D, and aviation industries.

3. Ozone Aging Chamber
Primarily used for testing rubber products, this chamber assesses the degree of cracking or other performance changes of rubber in an ozone environment. It is ideal for evaluating the ozone resistance of thermoplastic rubber, vulcanized rubber, cable insulation, and other rubber-based products.

4. Xenon Lamp Aging Chamber
This chamber simulates destructive light waves in different environments using xenon arc lamps. It provides environmental simulation and accelerated testing for product development and quality control.

5. Salt Spray Corrosion Aging Chamber
By spraying salt mist, this chamber simulates corrosive environments to test the salt spray resistance of materials. It includes four test modes:

Cyclic Salt Spray Test
Neutral Salt Spray Test (NSS)
Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test (AASS)
Copper-Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test (CASS)
It is widely used in electronics, automotive, chemical plants, and research institutes to evaluate protective coatings on components and parts.
In addition to these five main types, there are other aging test chambers available. Linpin Instruments, as a manufacturer of testing equipment, offers a wide range of chambers tailored to different materials and simulated environments. Customers can visit the factory to select the most suitable equipment based on their needs.

Low-temperature test chambers are widely used in aerospace, automotive, home appliances, and scientific research to determine the adaptability of products or materials under different environmental temperatures.
Safety for any test chamber is very important, now the equipment are set up to protect the measures, in addition to these self-protection warning, in the usual use of equipment in the process also need to pay attention to the following points.
Frost formation in a thermal shock test chamber is a sublimation phenomenon where moisture inside the chamber condenses under low-temperature conditions. But why does this happen? Is it simply because the chamber temperature is too low?
The salt spray test chamber currently has four types of testing methods.
