How to Conduct and Assess the Sealing of a High-Temperature Test Chamber

Source:LINPIN Time:2025-02-25 Category:Industry News

A high-temperature test chamber is equipped with a specialized sealing system, which primarily functions to seal the test chamber door. This ensures that external air does not enter the chamber and that internal gases do not escape, thereby maintaining the stability of the test chamber’s temperature. The sealing system often employs silicone rubber sealing strips, which provide excellent dual insulation and airtightness.

How can you conduct a self-inspection of the sealing of a high-temperature test chamber? And how can you make a judgment?

To conduct a self-inspection of the sealing of a high-temperature test chamber, first close the equipment door and insert a thin sheet of paper at the position of the vertical door seal strip. Observe whether the paper can slide freely. Then, turn on the test chamber equipment, observe the light through the observation window, and after closing the door, check whether there is any light leakage around the door seal strip.

After introducing the method of self-inspection of the sealing of a high-temperature test chamber, let’s share some daily maintenance methods for the test chamber door seal. High-temperature test equipment that has been used for a long time may experience aging of the silicone rubber. In such cases, the sealing strip should be replaced in a timely manner. When wiping the residual water on the edge of the sealing material of the high-temperature test equipment door, carefully lift the plastic edge and gently wipe it with a clean soft cloth. Do not damage the plastic magnetic strip. When the test chamber is not in use for a long time, a small amount of talcum powder can be applied to the door seal strip to keep it dry, and then it should be placed in a ventilated and cool place. When the seal is slightly deformed and the surface is not parallel, you can loosen the screws that fix the electromagnetic door seal, place a thin rubber strip in the gap, and then tighten the screws again. If the door is not flush with the chamber body after closing, you can adjust the bracket to fix the chamber door as much as possible until the door is closed and flush with the chamber body. Since the door seal strip is magnetic, metal powders can easily adhere to it, causing the door to close loosely and wear out the seal strip. When this phenomenon is observed, it is necessary to promptly wipe away the iron filings and metal powders with a cloth.

The sealing property is of great importance for a high-temperature test chamber, so it is essential to pay attention to the inspection of the equipment’s sealing.

A low-temperature test chamber can accommodate multiple test specimens, but are there specific requirements regarding the location and quantity of test points? Today, we will introduce the guidelines for test point placement and quantity in such equipment.
During the operation of a temperature and humidity test chamber, some abnormal situations may occur, such as excessive overheating of the condenser tube.
In the workshops of some enterprises, we often see a brand-new constant temperature and humidity test chamber that, after a short period of use, becomes covered in oil stains and dust.
If the temperature and humidity test chamber is a powerful tool for evaluating product performance, then the operators are the ones who wield this tool—and a critical factor that directly influences test results.
Following our previous discussion on the effects of high-temperature environmental testing, this paper systematically summarizes the typical property changes that occur in test specimens within low-temperature test chambers (hereinafter referred to as “the equipment”).
